Say Something!
Ezekiel 37: 9, Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’”
In Ezekiel 37, we read the story of the “Dry Bones”. In the first 14 verses, God turns a hopeless, dead, lifeless situation around. He places Ezekiel in the MIDST of a valley FULL of dead, dry bones, and then tells Ezekiel to prophesy THREE times to the dry bones until the situation has life in it.
Are you right in the middle of a dry and lifeless situation? Where you look all around you and you only see dried up hope, brokenness and the impossible? God told Ezekiel, YOU prophesy to this situation, and SPEAK, “What thus says the Lord!”
The first time Ezekiel was told to prophesy was in verses 4-6, where God told him to tell this dried up situation to, “Hear the Word of the Lord.” He went on to say that God is going to breathe life into these bones, fill you with flesh, cover you with skin and you shall live. Verse 7 says, and then there was a RATTLING! Where things start to look like they’re turning around. But wait a minute, there was no breath in these bodies that God had put back together. Then in verse 9, God said to Ezekiel, “YOU prophesy again and command the winds to come from the four corners of the earth and breathe into this dead situation; that it may live.”
So, now Ezekiel has a great army of living and breathing people, but they have no hope. Then God says again, Ezekiel, YOU tell them, “I will open up their graves and bring them forth. I will put My Spirit in them, and bring them to their own land and they SHALL LIVE!”
Speaking over your situation isn’t a one-hit wonder. As we see in Ezekiel 37, God told him to prophesy THREE times until the situation was what God intended it to be. But each time He said, “Ezekiel, YOU say something.” It doesn’t matter how bleak your situation may seem, whether it’s health wise, financial, mental, emotional, for a loved one, whatever – SPEAK to your situation! Tell it constantly, “What thus says the Lord!” You may have to speak to it daily, but don’t stop speaking God’s Word over your matter until it’s what God has promised you it would be.
Say something!
