Wait on the Lord!

Wait on the Lord!
Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Waiting on God… what a privilege!
In today’s society of instantaneity, the thought of having to wait for just about anything is almost a foreign language or a lost art. Oh, but waiting on God has its privileges!
I’ve seen high-end department store staff members waiting (serving) celebrities in New York City as if they had nothing else to do, or no one else to serve, with the thoughts of receiving a nice commission once their wait was over. Or a waiter waiting with extreme patience on very affluent and high powered people in Washington, DC with the thought of receiving a very handsome tip once they were finished waiting. They would wait with a smile on their faces, while their strength was fading, and their feet & backs were killing them from standing for long periods of time and walking back and forth to the kitchen or stock room to get their customers what they wanted.
And when they’d make it back to their customer, they had to wait some more because their patrons were saying to them, in essence, “I’m not done with you yet.” All with the hopes of being “blessed” once they got their release.
There is no guarantee that waiting on mankind will result in any rewards, but God promises that His blessings are worth the WAIT! If you’re waiting on Him to answer a prayer, then He’s telling you that He’s not done with you yet!  You’re probably wondering, “What do I do while I wait on the Lord?” You see what else He wants from you. What waiter doesn’t check in to see what else he can serve his/her customers with – especially if he wants a good tip? God has never disappointed anyone who’s waited on Him.
Job said in Job 14:14 that he’d WAIT on the Lord until his change would come! And we know that once the Lord “got through with him” he had DOUBLE THE BLESSINGS FOR HIS TROUBLE!
David said in Psalms 27:14 to WAIT on the Lord, and be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart! He then said in Psalms 37:9 that those who WAIT on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
Lamentations 3:25 says that the Lord is good to those who WAIT for Him!
Isaiah said and those who WAIT upon the Lord, He shall renew your strength (strength while you’re waiting!) You shall mount up with wings as eagles (the most majestic bird of the air, and the ONLY bird that can fly ABOVE THE STORMS!) And the benefits keep coming – you shall RUN and not grow weary and you shall walk and not faint!
You’re GUARANTEED strength while you’re waiting, and blessings at the end of your wait!
Be of good courage. If you’re waiting on God, count it a privilege, not everyone gets to wait on Him!
