Last weekend, I attended my first BlogHer conference – affectionately known as #blogher12 on Twitter.
With a conference the size of this one; nearly 5,000 blogger attendees, 150 sponsors, over a dozen panel discussions, gobs of information, and the President of the United States, one would do themselves great justice to have a follow-up plan to make the most of the experience.
So, here’s what my follow-up plan looked like:
– my list of sponsors/exhibitors that I spoke with, who had a program or product that I felt passionately about, and I wanted to begin a relationship with.
For instance, I’ve already purchased a subscription of gourmet products with Love With Food, because I love the fact that with each box that I order, they’ll donate a meal to a hungry child in America. LOVE the idea!
Also, one of my motto’s to having a well balanced life is to not only shop, but to SAVE MONEY while I shop. Therefore, I opened an account with ebates, and purchased a gorgeous cardigan from Nordstrom (which you’ll see in a later post) and my CASH BACK is on its way to me. Along with a Target gift card for being new to the program! Love, love!
– I’ve been considering affiliate programs for a while, and now I’ve gotten more information from the brands themselves, and I’ve started the process of becoming an affiliate with brands & products that I’ve already been using.
– This is my list of people that I met and/or learned from during the sessions and I’d like to connect with on Twitter, and follow their blogs.
This follow-up plan is very important to me. This ensures me that if I follow through with what I’ve written down, then my #blogher12 conference was a lot more than the 5 huge bags of swag that I came home with. 🙂
One of my other motto’s in life: Write it down, make it happen!
