Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43:1-3 NKJV
Is there anyone who feels like they’re going “through” something? *Raises hand.*
Be encouraged! I have some good news for you. The definition of the word through means to go in on one side and to come out on the other side — in other words – YOU’RE COMING OUT, you’re not staying in your current situation. So take down that “Home Sweet Home” sign and get your praise on!
In the above scripture, the Lord clearly tells us that we are going to go through some things – ie, the waters, the rivers and the fire. But, He’s right in there with us! David said in Psalm 23 that he was just walking THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, and he wouldn’t fear because he knew that God was with him. And He’s with you too!
Recently, I was flying back home from snowy Minnesota. I was very concerned that my flight would be delayed on cancelled due to the weather. Thank God, everything went off without a hitch! At any rate, I want to illustrate what “going through” looks like – Here’s the “storm” approaching …
It was looking bad before, but it’s getting worse! Everything that can go wrong, has …
It looks like you’re going down for the last count now …
That’s it! It’s curtains for you – your problems have now totally overtaken you …
But wait – LOOK! We’ve gone through and now the finish line (home) is in sight!!!
Do you get the picture? Sometimes the only way to get to where you need to go, is to go THROUGH – but you’re coming out!
